Our monday install job was a removal of timber windows, a small wall cut and installing new window and sliding door onto deck.

We made 2 of these (mirror image) sliding doors which i delivered last week. We also made 2 sliding windows almost identical (again mirror image). All delivered to the builder to install.

Meranti Sliding Door with colonial bars and clear laminate glass
Last week we went off to remove fire damaged windows and doors at a small series of shops. With the new windows ready we removed the old ones and installed and site glazed the new ones. over 2 days.commercial aluminium, pivot doors with concealed overhead door closers and all laminate glass.

Its the start of a new financial year.
We received our brand new 1300mm wide belt sander last week (just waiting on the custom ducting to rock up). It will allow us to sand wide doors perfectly, whereas our old one was narrower and just a little bit old. This new one has all the bells and whistles.

Last friday we worked in Happy Vally to remove an existing 820wide hinged door and fixed lite window. the old window had 3mm float glass and up in the hills it must be quite cold. The new is a cedar 3 stacker door with 16mm double glazed units.

Here is a custom cedar window. we reused the hand made glass and leadlight to fit a new window size. custom beading and stop beading.

We replaced fixed panels of glass along the full height of a stairwell – both west and east sides were replaced. the glass had been leaking into the stairwell. We replaced the glass, added new aluminium beads and resealed any gaps along the sides of the window.

Yesterday myself, Tom and Andrew installed this bay window (and another double window which ill add photos later). The original window was rotting away and falling apart. White cathedral glass on top colonial sashes, clear laminate on bottom panels. Sides are fixed/dummy sashes with the middle panel able to be lifted up (screens not in photo but sit on outside.)

This morning we removed 2 rotten timber framed louvre windows and replaced them with our aluminium residential sliding windows. Flange and angle to finish, with some timber beading to go on the inside. i left the lads to finish the job once we had the larger one screwed in. The owner was pretty happy and has asked us to quote for more along the side of the house.

Removing rotten wooden timbers and replacing with aluminium
Well late december on the very last job for the year i managed to cut my hand (snapped razer blade). An operation, a cast and some nerve damage was my end of year. However i am mostly mended and we have been back at TWM since early Jan. Although we make aluminium, it is the timber side which is very busy at the moment.

Some of this work is headed for rural SA, and into Victoria. As the years go by we are finding that we are doing more work for interstate clients as well.
