probably will install this frame next week. glass is on hold for delivery to site.
Here are some photos of some arched windows we recently made. Lots of labour in these, but the end result is a work of art.
Chinese products are changing the building landscape here in Australia.
Some of the products are world class, and superb. the vast majority isnt.
A builder brought in some aluminium awning sashes he got from China. I am not sure they are even legal.
When you are building or renovating a house, make sure you are comparing apples with apples.
We make a fair few of these style aluminium windows. Commercial frame (101mm x 44.5mm) with an awning sash and lockable whitco chain winder. Fly screen on inside.
The awning has no hinges or stays, and instead has a hook on the head and a matching hook on the top of the sash. No moving on this turning point means nothing will wear out and break (as do hinges and non-friction stays after years of use)
Thought id take a photo before delivering it to a job site this morning.
Installed 2 of these windows.
removed old timber windows of similar design, but which had 5mm float glass (quite unsafe).
New frame is commercial framing, not residential, to look more like the original chunky timber frame. 101 x 44.5mm
grey laminate glass, with the larger panel 10.38 mm thick.
awning with chain winder and fly screen, trimmed with aluminium angles.
Unusual glass in this particular window- TAFFETTA Toughened glass.
