A nice job today, removing old glass, colonial bars, transoms, mullions, sashes and so on. replaced with 10.38 laminate glass for a stronger and safer result, and with a much fuller view to the river (west lakes).

Finished ProductYesterday, we removed a window at a hairdresser which had been hit by a car.
A meranti 4 panel fixed lite, just under 5meters wide. 10.38 clear laminate glass was used.
Meranti Timber window + and other odd jobs
Finished ProductInstalled this window yesterday, very pleased as we managed to remove the old glass panes from the old sashes, and re-use them in the new window.

Commercial bifold install
Finished Product, Work in progressThis morning, we had 3 bifolds up and screwed in by 9:30am.
I’ve come back to the factory to relax and do this post, whilst the lads struggle on and do the finishing touches. Monday we glaze them.
Here is our job site. timber posts between bifolds.
Getting the first bifold moved into position
3 bifolds secured in (more screws later) by 930am. Glazing will occur monday with 6.38 clear laminate glass.

Finished ProductWe made 2 bifolds, and 2 doorframes with doubledoors (french doors) for this job at west lakes. the original windows were removed, and some required wall cuts too.
Client will render to the outside of our frames.

Bifold install
Finished ProductWe were asked to assess a damaged Bifold that had its active panel ripped off in a windy storm.

this is the panel that was pulled off in the wind.
You can see some of the damage to the hinges.
The doors,hinges, perimeter jambs and head, and the seals were all damaged in the storm. only a new bifold would be appropriate, repair was out of the question.

Cedar Doorframes
Finished ProductNothing fancy here, but here are 11 doorframes off to a building site. each is 3000 high with small hi lites and no sills. To suit 2700 high doors.
Doorframes are made here on an almost daily basis, and though unexciting compared to some of our other work, is a staple of what we do here at THE WINDOW MAN.
