Chinese products are changing the building landscape here in Australia.
Some of the products are world class, and superb. the vast majority isnt.
A builder brought in some aluminium awning sashes he got from China. I am not sure they are even legal.
When you are building or renovating a house, make sure you are comparing apples with apples.

On friday, this bifold was finished and ready for delivery.
This is a western red cedar, 4 panel bifold window.
This photo shows inside view.
4 panels, moving to the left (when looking from the outside). Opening OUT. All top hung, (the bottom timber brace is removed on insallation). This window will sit above a stone servery. Clear glass, Gold colour CENTOR hardware.
Overall size; 1135 x 1890. Perimeter frame 140 x 44

Cedar Bifold Window

a few doors are getting finished off all at once.some are being putty glazed, most have timber beading.

meranti bi-fold door
We made this window for a builder, who installed the window and here we are getting it glazed. It should look amazing when the place is finished. Client very happy.

This is the window schedule.
We manufactured and installed these windows and double pivot doors last week.
glazed with 6.38 grey laminate glass.

We make a fair few of these style aluminium windows. Commercial frame (101mm x 44.5mm) with an awning sash and lockable whitco chain winder. Fly screen on inside.
The awning has no hinges or stays, and instead has a hook on the head and a matching hook on the top of the sash. No moving on this turning point means nothing will wear out and break (as do hinges and non-friction stays after years of use)
Thought id take a photo before delivering it to a job site this morning.

Here is a burnt out window we remade.
cedar. box frame (so weights and brass pulleys with sash cord rope). clear glass. dissapearing screen (goes into the wall cavity of a double brick house).
